Cabernet Sauvignon Pairings VR Cab Onions

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 6 Large red onions (julienned thin)
  • 8 oz Dark brown sugar
  • ½ Bottle Vina Robles Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 16 oz Balsamic vinaigrette
  • 3 Large rosemary sprigs

Directions

    Heat oil in a wide-based heavy skillet over high heat. Add onions and sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring often. Reduce heat to medium and cook until soft and lightly browned, stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes.

    Add remaining ingredients and stir until combined. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook until onions form a dark red wine caramel color, 20-30 minutes. Remove from heat and discard rosemary sprigs.
