2023 Malbec

Perched high in the Adelaida District on Paso Robles’ rugged west side, Bear Valley Vineyard neighbors our Mountain Road Reserve Terra Bella Vineyard and sits alongside the White Cliffs site. Its steep, south-facing slopes and rocky calcareous soils produce naturally low yields but intensely concentrated fruit. Shaped by the same marine influence that defines Terra Bella, this small block of Malbec yields grapes of remarkable depth, structure, and complexity.

Inky and expressive, this Malbec opens with black plum, blueberry compote, and violet on the nose, followed by hints of dark chocolate, espresso, and sweet tobacco. The palate is full-bodied and velvety, with layers of ripe blackberry, cassis, and baking spice, supported by supple tannins and a lingering finish of mocha and graphite minerality
