2011 Penman Springs Petite Sirah

Penman Springs Vineyard is located across the creek east of our estate Huerhuero Vineyard in Paso Robles. The grapes for this vintage were handpicked and sorted for quality in the vineyard. Further sorting occurred at the winery before destemming and gently crushing the fruit prior to fermentation. The fruit was fermented in half-ton bins, punching down the cap twice a day to gently extract tannins. The wine was pressed off the skins once fermentation slowed and then transferred to French oak barrels to complete malolactic fermentation. The wine was meticulously racked over the course of its 18-month aging period and bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve its mouthfeel. The Petite Sirah from Penman Springs offers dark color and fresh berry aromas with a rich body yet supple texture.
