Harvest began with the Chardonnay and Sauvignon
Blanc toward the end of August. Repeated hot spells
created certain challenges during the entire harvest,
which ended for Vina Robles on October 31st.
Overall it could be declared a “great” vintage
as all varieties ripened evenly with good sugar and
acid levels. We also benefited from a sizeable crop
level and, given the quality of the fruit, this was
an added bonus.
The resultant wines are clean and bright with a wonderful
fresh fruit quality. These wines are approachable and
ready to drink now, yet will age gracefully. This is
definitely a vintage to savor.
